James E. Sharp, director of the Capital District EOC from 1970 to 1995, passed away on Friday, Aug. 30.
Jim’s passing is a tremendous loss to the EOC community, both locally for the Capital District, and more broadly for the entire EOC system. Jim played a significant role in the development of EOCs in their critical infancy. He was a strong and dedicated steward for the Capital District EOC for 25 years. His heart and spirit were always completely devoted to the mission and purpose of the centers and students they serve.
He will be missed deeply by those who knew him.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3 at Dufresne and Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road in Latham.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road in Latham.
